Our ballroom dancing class takes place every Tuesday between 3.15 and 4.00. The class is open to all children and their parents/carers and we would really like to see more adults at our class. We have been learning some basic steps including the Waltz, Cha Cha Cha, Samba and the Jive, and we will be moving on to the Quick Step in the near future. We will be holding regular ‘tea dances’, with demonstrations by children from a local dance school, to celebrate the children’s and parents’ success.

Wednesday

  • “Dream Team” – Football practise
Mr Reed / Mr Joburns / Mr Pearson
    Class SG and older(3.15 - 4.15pm)

Our football practises are for all ages and help to make us better players and participate with a good sense of team spirit. Mr Joburns and Mr Langton give up their time to coach the boys and they have been really impressed by their skill, enthusiasm and attitude. We have participated in some competitions and played friendlies against other schools. We are always looking out for new players and anyone aspires to pulling on the team shirt and representing their school. Practises start promptly at 3.15 and finish at 4.15.

Thursday

  • “YMCA fun activities”
    Lyn and Mark
Key stage 2 children by special invitation (3.15 – 5.00pm)

The children will be working towards their Junior Achievement Award by undertaking various activities including tending our allotment. Their motto is “enjoy” “join in” “discover” which we are sure that all the children will do.

  • “Sound of Music” – Church school choir
    Father Peter
    Class SHB and older (3.15-4.00pm)

The church school choir have been performing together for 5 years. They meet to practice on Thursdays, where they have vocal lessons before learning and practising some of their vast repertoir of songs and hymns. Recently they have performed in York minster, Ripon cathedral, and Selby abbey, as well as singing for the Lord Mayor of Barnsley at Barnsley town hall.
