A Champion in our midst!
One of our Year 6 pupils, who moved to
Hemsworth High School in September, has been developing her
kick boxing skills for less than one year and she has already
proven to be the best. Not only is she English Champion but
she is now also the British Champion for her age and weight.
She is totally dedicated to the sport and works hard training
and practising her moves. She recently demonstrated her skills
during a key stage 2 assembly. What is so inspiring about
Britney’s success is the modest way that she tells us
about her achievements. In a short interview with Mr Reed
she explained, “This is something that I really enjoy
and I have set my goal on becoming champion of the world.
I hope to be participating in Cadiz, Spain in the Autumn and
ultimately in Las Vegas!”

Royalty in school
: Fermin Day
We just had to show you this fabulous ‘Dress As You
Please’ costume. As part our fundraising for Fermin,
our adopted child from El Salvador, Lewis
came to school as the Queen of Hearts – he really
caused a stir and everyone thought he looked fantastic. |

Gabanski Trophy
The photo of James
is in recognition of his outstanding effort in sport over
the past year. His attitude is an example to others and his
commitment and enthusiasm are first class. The trophy is called
the Gabanski Trophy after an ex-teacher (Miss Gabanski) who
supported Brierley School for many years in the participation
of quality PE activities. |
