Spring 2

This term Class Donaldson have explored growth and change. 

As Scientists, children have observed frog spawn turn into tadpoles as well as plant their own runner beans. Class Donaldson researched what plants need to grow and cared for them. We learnt how farmers plant and grow crops for us to eat.

We had a very special delivery of caterpillars children can identify all the stages in their lifecycle. The caterpillars grew bigger everyday and tranformed into cocoons. Miss Raynor took the cocoons home over the Easter holidays so keep checking the website for updates (Photos are now on our class gallery - take a look). 

In Design and Technology, we explored the difference between fruit and vegetables. After reading the story Pumpkin soup children designed their own soup and spoke about the equipment needed to create it. Afterwards children created their own soup using kitchen tools safely and effectively. Finally, they tasted the soup before concluding if they liked the taste and what they would do next time.  

This half term we also visited our local church. Class Donaldson were met by Father Paul who showed us around pointing out key features and discussed different services.
