We would like to say a big hello to all our new Year 2 children starting in Class Armitage this September! We hope you have had a lovely summer and are ready to start learning.

The classroom is all ready and waiting for you...check out our gallery!

Take a look at what we have been learning so far see our news items below.

We are Geographers!

We will be identifying locations on a world map and learn how to utilise compasses so we know which direction to travel in. Our pupils will learn the people who draw a map are identfied as cartographers.

Christian Value of Compassion.

We have been learning about how kind we are and can be to others around us, learning from Jesus and how he showed compassion to others. Take a look at our pot of kindness - we have so many ways we can show compassion in Year 2!

We are Creative Writers!

We have loved reading our class text this half term, The Lighthouse Keeper Lunch written by Ronda and David Armitage. We have enjoyed exploring the key features of character description.

Religious Education

We learnt about the holy book Sikhism value as important, the Guru Granth Sahib.

We are Historians!

We explored the history of Romans. We learned about the invasion of Britain and Europe and we gained an understanding of how the Roman's were an ancient civilisation with a huge empire.

We are Scientists!

We have been learning about the human body. We have learnt about the essential nutrients (air, food and water) our bodies need for survival (humans and animals).

We are Mathematicians!

In Maths, we have been looking at mastery number, fluent in 5 and learning one ten is equivalent to ten ones.
