Class Dahl- Year 3 2025 - 2026
Mr Barker
Mrs Arnold
Welcome to Class Dahl 2025-2026
Who are we ?
We are 'Team Awesome'. Everyone is important in Class Dahl. We are all equal. We are all valued. We are all unique. We celebrate and value our differences.
In Class Dahl, we strive to work together to develop positive relationships with others, by learning and growing together each day. We support each other with kindness, by caring for others whilst valuing and building our friendships.
We believe Class Dahl is like a complex jigsaw puzzle and we aim to be the best we can be, by playing our part and always giving our best in everything that we do. That way all the pieces of our class jigsaw fit together and the jigsaw works. We are each part of a bigger picture and are responsible by our words, thoughts and actions. Class Dahl strive to be better, each and every day. Our aim is to remain on 'Ever Green' each day, that shows our comittment as a member of our class to work together and be part of 'Team Awesome'.
We are rewarded for our efforts each day by being awared individual 'Class Dojo' points, stickers, certificates or even a message home. We celebrate consitently good effort and achievements by awarding a 'Champion of The Day' award and by also choosing a 'Sports Person of the Week' for effort in P.E. We value those who strive to always do their very best, in everything they do.
What is Class Dahl like ?
Our Year 3 classroom celebrates the achievements of our pupils. We love to display great work in our classroom and around our school. Our displays reflect the learning that takes place each half-term and our displays change within each subject topic to reflect current learning and themes. Our subject based displays are rich in vocabulary, helping to develop our oracy as well as written skills and supports our learning through displaying key information, visual cues, diagrams, as well as displaying our key 'burning questions' which we strive to answer by the end of each unit of learning.
Please find examples of our current displays below for Autumn 2 2025
How can I help my child?
- Read with your child as often as you can asking lots of questions to check their understanding. Each time they read their school reading book, they will need to complete a reading quiz to check their understanding, before being able to choose another book.
- Practice times tables as much as you can. We need to know our x3 x4 & x8 times tables. Go to topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10 to practice daily
- Learn the weekly spellings and become familiar with the spelling patterns within the Y3 word lists. They are published weekly on our Class Dojo.
- Learn to read and write words from the Year 3 & 4 High Frequency word lists.
