Class Donaldson- Reception 2026 - 2027

Welcome to Brierley School and to Class Donaldson! 

Hope you have had a lovely half term. 

Our exciting topic for Autumn 2 is ‘Transport’! Throughout this topic, children will learn about different types of transport and why we need to transport people and things around the world.

We will learn about the importance of safety when we use transport, or when we are around transport, e.g. crossing the road. This is 
particularly important to consider at this point in the year when the evenings are getting darker and children are likely to be out and about in the dark. 

Then children then learn about transport around the world. Moving onto Transport from the past which links to our first school trip where we will ride on a steam train at Whistlestop Valley. 

It promises to be a fun-filled half term of exploring, discovering and learning all about transport as well as Chistmas!
