Autumn 1

We have had a great start to the Autumn term in Year 1. Here you will find lots of updates and pictures of the learning that has taken place. 

We are Scientists!

We have been putting our senses to the test by smelling a variety of everyday items, tasting a selection of foods and feeling objects with different textures. We found that our smell and taste worked together when trying foods. Sometimes, we noticed that when we predicted what we thought the food was with just our sight, our predictions would change when we used our smell and taste. 

We are artists! 

This week in art, we have been lerning all about primary colours and the artist Mondrian who painted using bright, vibrant primary colours. Take a peek at our wonderful work inspired by his painting, Composition with Red, Yellow and Blue, 1930.

We are Mathematicians! 

This week we have been learning all about the numbers 0 - 20. We have been taking part in lots of practical activites using numicon, cubes and number cards to help us udnerstand the sequence of numbers and the value of each number 0 - 20.
